FoodMarble expanding operations in order to sink its teeth into the US market

FoodMarble, a Dublin-based company best known for its breath-test app, has announced that it will create 25 new jobs in order to facilitate it breaking into the US business market.

These jobs will be a combination of technology roles, including engineering and design, as well as commercial roles in areas such as marketing, sales, business development (R&D) and customer success.

The company is currently exploring new markets, in addition to new research and development projects.

Aonghus Shortt, CEO and co-founder of FoodMarble, said: 'Our continued expansion plans and the hiring of 25 roles, doubling the size of our team, is a really exciting step and will help us continue to execute on our mission and capture new markets.'

The company, which was founded in 2016 by Shortt alongside Lisa Rutledge and Peter Harte, is known for its personal digestive tracker called Aire.

The app, which was launched in 2018, utilises a breath test that helps people identify foods that could trigger symptoms of conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, also known as IBS.

FoodMarble previously raised €2.1 million in seed funding at the end of last year to support continued expansion and R&D, according to Irish STEM magazine Silicon Republic. 

This was followed by a further €348,000 which was raised through a Seedrs crowdfunding campaign.
