Car and building damaged in suspected arson in Limerick City

A building has been significantly damaged during one of two incidents of arson in Limerick this morning.

At around 1.30am, gardaí received a report of a car on fire at Browns Quay in Limerick city.

Approximately four hours later, gardaí also received a report of a fire at a nearby business.

There was a "significant amount of damage" to the building.

Fire services attended both scenes and a technical examination has been completed by gardaí.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Mayorstone Park Garda Station, the Garda Confidential Line, or any garda station.
