Man arrested following hit and run in Co Limerick

Gardaí have arrested a man in relation to a serious road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car that occurred on the Ballinacurra Road, Co.Limerick on Monday, March 8.

The collision occurred at approximately 11.20pm. The pedestrian, a man aged in his 20s, still remains in a critical condition at University Hospital Limerick. The driver of the car failed to remain at scene.

A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested this morning and has been charged in connection with the case.

He is expected to appear before a sitting of Limerick District Court (CCJ No. 6) on Thursday, 11 March.

Gardaí are appealing  for anyone who was in the Childers Road/Ballinacurra Road or in the vicinity of the Ballykeeffe roundabout near the Crescent Shopping Centre between 11.15pm and 11.30pm on Monday night, March 8 to contact them.

Gardaí are particularly appealing to any road users who may have camera footage to contact Roxboro Road Garda Station on 061-214340.
