Gardaí broke up house party with over 100 people last weekend

Gardaí said they are finding groups as big as 30 to 40 people at house parties and social gatherings.

In one case last weekend, around 100 people were found at a house party,  according to a statement this evening.

Gardaí said that there has been 675 fines of €500 each issued for organising a house party and 2,666 fines of €150 for attending a house party.

As of close of business yesterday, there had also been 13,972 fines of €100 issued for non-essential travel and 1,046 fines of €500 for non-essential journeys to airports/ports.

There were 337 fines of €80 each issued for not wearing a face covering and 377 fines of €100 for non-essential travel by persons not ordinarily resident in the State.

An Garda Síochána said gardaí will "continue nationwide checkpoints and high visibility patrols at public amenities, parks and beauty spots across the country this weekend in support of public health regulations".
