28,000 cigarettes seized from checked baggage at Dublin Airport

As a result of routine profiling, Revenue officers seized 28,000 cigarettes at Dublin Airport on Friday.

Checked baggage was searched belonging to a man who had disembarked a flight from Frankfurt.

The smuggled cigarettes branded ‘NZ Gold’ have an estimated retail value of €19,500 representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of €15,500.
