Aldi is to recruit 700 full-time and 350 part-time jobs in Ireland this year.
The German supermarket chain is to open six new stores in Killarney, Cahersiveen, Dunshaughlin, Douglas, Newbridge and Bayside in Dublin.
Planning permission is being sought for another six stores in Castlecomer, Ballybrit, Kanturk, Ballyhaunis, Shannon and Roches Street in Limerick.
Aldi already operates 145 stores nationwide and employs over 4,500 people.
The news was welcomed by Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar, who said the new jobs were a fantastic boost for the economy.
"I'm really glad to see Aldi continuing to offer both the living wage and sick pay to all employees, two benefits I would like to see more employers offering.
