Gardaí appeal for information on car used in shooting of teen in Dublin

Gardaí are appealing for information on a car that was used in the shooting of a 17-year-old in Dublin last night.

They would like to hear from anyone who might have seen a Black Hyundai I30 bearing a registration plate 07 TS 4838, in the vicinity of Eugene Street and Greenville Avenue, in the south inner city.

A 17-year-old male received a number of gunshot wounds and has been taken to St James Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

It is reported that he was shot five or six times when approached by a number of gunmen around 11pm last night.

He was hit a number of times in the upper body, including the neck area, while he was getting into a taxi.

The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination is to be carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.

Anyone who may have camera footage of the incident (including dash-cam and mobile phone footage) is asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
