Katie Taylor defeated Natasha Jonas by a narrow unanimous decision to retain her undisputed lightweight titles on Saturday night in Manchester.
The fight lived up to all expectations and produced fantastic action for all ten rounds with the champion just about eking out a decision win.
At the bell, nobody was certain who’d won, but the scorecards declared Taylor the victor by narrow unanimous decision – 96-94, 95-94, 95-94.
Taylor said post fight: “I had a bit of a slow start, but I thought I won the championship rounds and happily came out with a great win.
“It’s high quality boxing, skill, heart, grit, you have everything you need.
“We’ve been saying all week it could’ve been a headline fight, that shows why.”
