A US Navy medic opened fire on two men before he was shot and killed Tuesday morning at Fort Detrick Army base in the US state of Maryland, officials said.
Officials tweeted that the gunman responsible for the shooting in Frederick was a “Navy hospital corpsman.

The first shooting happened at 8.20 am in Riverside Tech Park in Frederick, about four miles from the military base, Police Chief Jason Lando said at a press conference.
Chief Lando said that after leaving that area, the shooter, who remained unidentified as of Tuesday at 11 a.m., then went to Fort Detrick.
Personnel on the base shot the suspect. After attempts to revive the shooter failed, he was declared dead, Lando reported.
The two male victims were in critical condition at University of Maryland Hospital's Shock Trauma Centre in Baltimore.
